Jeff Repp leaving post at end of June

CUMBERLAND — The Cumberland mayor and City Council are seeking volunteers to serve on a committee to assist in reviewing applications and make recommendations to the council for hiring a new city administrator. Longtime City Administrator Jeff Repp will be leaving his post effective June 30.

“The council and I have met and agree that public input, citizen involvement and business leadership are necessary in the review process,” said Mayor Brian Grim. The selection committee will be chosen by the council from letters of interest submitted by Cumberland residents.

Letters should be sent to Margie Eirich, city clerk, by May 20.

Effective July 1, Director of Administrative Services Jeffrey Rhodes will serve as acting city administrator. “Mr. Rhodes will act in that capacity during the search process for a permanent appointment to the post of city administrator,” said Grim.

Rhodes previously served as the city administrator in Keyser and Grafton, W.Va., and Frostburg in addition to serving the city of Cumberland for the past 13 years. “We recognize Mr. Rhodes’ credentials and trust in his ability to provide continuity in the role of administrator throughout our search process,” said Grim.
